STEPHEN'S PLAYLIST

ANNE MARIE'S PLAYLIST

STEPHEN TO ANNE MARIE:

SB: What is your favorite song?

AM: I hate that you know that a sax is the way to my heart but I also love it at the same time. So many good jams but I have to vote with my heart here… Holding Pattern by Harvey Sutherland.

SB: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

AM: Nope!

SB: Athletes are notorious for listening to warm-up music before big games. You’re a director and if I’m not mistaken about to shoot a new project in September. Do you listen to music as you prepare for shoot days and if so do you have specific music set aside for the special occasion or does it change every time?

AM: Hilarious answer to this question. Movie-making, as with everything, is romantic and you have all kinds of notions about what it’s going to look like before you actually hit the ground running. Then the wheels are off and anything goes. So while in the prep phase I carefully crafted a playlist for each character with their POVs and music taste in mind to give to the actors and we discussed at length… but by the time the shoot rolled around there was one song stuck in my head and it just kind of became my secret and personal shoot song. Your Love by The Outfield. Why? No idea. Probably because it had a levity and an uptempo optimism I really was feeling going into day one. Sometimes that’s all you need to carry you through!

ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: I feel like you’re trying to hide some sleepers at the end. Nobody but You in the anchor spot is a great way to round it out. But I gotta give the nod to Natty Bong with Some Guys Have All the Luck.

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: Nope!

AM: I’ve been thinking more and more about throwing a dinner party and asking people to come as James Bond villains. Who would you be attending as?

SB: Great question. I mean gut reaction would be a classic like Odd Job, but there have been some stellar newer ones like Le Chiffre. Or I could just go with Dominic Greene and dress like a casual Sahara vacationer. Yeah that might be the one.
