ANNE MARIE'S PLAYLIST

STEPHEN'S PLAYLIST

ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: I was sure it was gonna be One Day by JBC but then it was followed by Rosie Thorne’s You’re My Future so, damn, this is tough. I just like the headspace both of those put me in, but gotta give a sliiiight nod to JBC.

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: Nope, another great group.

AM: Here we go…the question of all questions. That’s right, you guessed it, it’s the infamous dinner party question. Stephen, you can have 10 people over for dinner — musicians dead or alive — who’s coming to dinner? Note: You can invite other people, too (hint: me).

SB: Haha well I don’t know that we have a table big enough for the full list. Of course I’d invite you, who else would I look over to with raised eyebrows when someone says something crazy. Ok, for the list, I’d really have to think about what I’d be going for. Are we talking about the creative process? Showmanship? Who’s been around other greats and would have the most epic stories to share? Would there be any impromptu jam sessions? So many questions. I guess I’ll say all of the above so we’ll need a mix. Also, I reserve the right to add more to the list as I remember or discover them. In no particular order:

- Stan Getz
- Daft Punk
- Pharrell
- Cynthia Erivo
- Nina Simone
- Sharon Jones
- Mos Def
- Edith Piaf
- Sammy Davis Jr
- Brandon Flowers
- Foxy Shazam
- Khraungbin
- Michael Jackson
- Parcels

STEPHEN TO ANNE MARIE:

SB: What is your favorite song?

AM: At first, I was a little upset that it might be the cover of Hang on Sloopy by girl named GOLDEN because I thought, Stevie just thinks I’m such a sucker and saw the word “sloopy” and knew I wouldn’t be able to resist…but then I put it on and it was just so good! Sloopy! Hang on!

SB: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

AM: Cosmos by Zinadelphia was on my (now deceased) November playlist. RIP.

SB: If you could write a song for one of our Kin Collective artists, who would it be for and what would it be about?

AM: I’d love to take a stab at writing a song for UK bands EKKAH or Litany. I think my stream of consciousness daydream thoughts are a little like their narrative rhythms. Young Gun Silver Fox. Oilly! Oilly would be amazing. Amber Mark. Gah this is like your dinner party list, it’s just gonna keep growing and growing.
