STEPHEN'S PLAYLIST

ANNE MARIE'S PLAYLIST

STEPHEN TO ANNE MARIE:

SB: What is your favorite song?

AM: The correct answer is Bad Love by Dehd.

SB: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

AM: Bobby Glasper, that’s about it.

SB: Stealing your last question a little, I’ll flip it. What’s something old you’ve re-fallen in love with? Music or otherwise.

AM: Good one! Hot yoga is the first thing that comes to mind. After going almost daily for years, then taking 2 years off, I’ve been going every for 6 weeks now that the pandemic is subsiding and LA is a little more open. It’s the same physical building my old yoga studio was previously in, but with new ownership… and that owner is teacher extraordinaire and my good friend, Bobby! I was actually in the hot room taking class when he announced he bought the studio. The entire room gave him a standing ovation. It was really a beautiful moment. Seeing someone who was born to do something achieve a wonderful thing. Anyway, it’s so nice to see all the old faces — people I know and people I don’t — and chat before and after class. And with that, the other old thing I’m loving again is bumping in to people you know out in the world. The spontaneous “hi!” as they spring upon you or vice versa. Such a cool feeling. Making travel plans and actually keeping them is the next thing I want to fall back in love with. I’ll keep you posted on that one. : )

ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: Ok this was a runaway here. It’s So Easy by Margo & Mac. That vibe. But also, it sounds so much like Marc Rebillet but I can’t find anything on M&M so now I’m really curious. I must know.

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: A few and sadly like your last note here, I had a few of these in my back pocket and you just scooped them. Kurtis Wells. Austin Millz and Mont Duamel.

AM: I don’t think I’ve ever asked you this in real life. Do you have any recurring dreams?

SB: Well, sadly I don’t sleep long enough to ever get to REM sleep. For real. Like I haven’t had (or remember having) any dreams in the past 5+ years. And maybe 2 in the past decade. And what’s crazier is that whenever I did have them, I’d only remember being in a place and the feeling in that moment. Like a Polaroid. And that’s it. I’ve always been jealous of people who could detail out their crazy long dreams and the 5 locations they went to and the 10 conversations they had. The only time I got close was in college, when I had a lucid dream experience that was pretty great.
