STEPHEN'S PLAYLIST

ANNE MARIE'S PLAYLIST

STEPHEN TO ANNE MARIE:

SB: What is your favorite song?

AM: Moody by maye. but you already knew that, didn’t you?

SB: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

AM: Not these tracks specifically. I know a little Niteroy and I’ve heard of King Princess.

SB: Music tends to be cyclical and old trends come back around. Where do you think the sound of tomorrow will get its inspiration?

AM: Well, I feel like it’s slightly unfair to answer this now because a month ago this would have been a trickier question, but with a global crisis happening I think we’re going to hear a wave of “connection” themed tracks. People are feeling trapped and isolated from their loved ones, or even isolated from new connections they might form or could be out in the world forming if this wasn’t happening. I am especially curious because the general population has been talking about how the caliber of phone and text conversations has shot up with a global crisis, humans are actually checking in on one another, asking about how everyone is really feeling and gently reminding each other that they have value, so will music reflect that? Or, will we go right back to the melee of pretending not to care and discouraging each other not to catch feelings as soon as this is over? Can’t wait to find out.

ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: Man, you got me with that Sessa. Here I was thinking about picking Zaia, but against Grandeza, it didn't stand a chance.

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: Really bummed you burned Nasty Cherry. I've had that song on my list for a few months now and I'm kicking myself.

AM:There’s always been much debate about what types of audio or content should be included in our space probes and sent out to best represent us in case it ever reaches intelligent life. What music / content comes to mind if Stevie B had input on what files went out into the universe?

SB: Ok, what a great question. My gut reaction would be to send one album from each country around the world. Whomever/Whatever ends up getting this time capsule I'd want it to see how much variety and beauty existed in every culture's music. Now, how do you decide which album to feature for each country? Well, good luck with that. That's a bracket I want to see.
