ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: Gotta give it to Love Forever by Babe Rainbow. Really digging the rock vibes this month. 

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: Des Rocs I've heard of before and, once again, am disappointed that I didn't burn then first. Also, Scarypoolparty, but only because he was an amazing American Idol contestant last season.

AM: What day of the year is it appropriate to start listening to Christmas music?

SB: I feel like you asked this question just to torment me. The Grinch in me says Christmas Eve, but I really have mixed feelings about it. Part of me really loves the energy it brings to others and the mood and spirit it puts them in (yourself included). It just signals the season where we get together and have a good time. I think like most music the big reason I struggle with Christmas music is the repetition. You hear the same 10 songs over and over and that drives me crazy. Also not crazy about the newer pop-style holiday tunes. I love the classics and especially love new songs that sound like the classics, like She and Him, Sharon Jones and even some John Legend...sign me up. There was just a great podcast done on The Hottest Take about holiday music, pretty much talking about this exact situation and making the argument that we should have more Thanksgiving music. While I don't necessarily agree with the idea of a bunch of songs about turkey and stuffing, I do like music that signals the start of the season - I just wish it was more varied and classic than what goes on the radio November 1st.
