ANNE MARIE'S PLAYLIST

STEPHEN'S PLAYLIST

ANNE MARIE TO STEPHEN:

AM: What is your favorite song?

SB: I mean, some really solid options, but I can’t get past those Greek Blues. Wow. Where has this been all my life? Talk about transportive.

AM: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

SB: Just good ‘ol George Benson’s Give Me the Night.

AM: What current song are you listening to to get hype?

SB: Ok, so I’m going to cheat with my answer here and give a few answers.

For me, there are different types of hype that call for different types of music (or at least that’s what I’m saying so I don’t have to pick just one). For swag hype gimme PINK MONEY by Pink Sweat$. For sophisticated swag hype it’s gotta be anything British rap. For unapologetic hype, I’ll take Remi Wolf for days. Seriously she (and her producer) are brilliant and really fun. She was on a recent episode of Kenny Beats freestyle and she came up with something pretty damn catchy tunes about absolutely nothing. For smooth, uplifting hype I’ve had Amber Mark’s Competition on repeat for a solid month. For a more, really cool, subtle, but confident hype Julia Wolf is the one you’ve got to spin. For Chromeo-like hype there’s this guy Turbotito that is just cranking out instant dance floor delights. For the “let’s go break some shit while rocking out” hype I’ve never stopped loving Foxy Shazam. And yes for the pure windows down, volume up hype it’s been T-Pain’s “I Like Dat” for the past several months. The kids are so obsessed with it now they know most of the words and my 5 year-old even does a bottle popping gesture when you hear the sound effect in the song. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up top 3 on the Spotify end of year report.

STEPHEN TO ANNE MARIE:

SB: What is your favorite song?

AM: Canto lo sentimental. I’m sure you are 0% surprised.

SB: Have you heard any of these tracks before?

AM: Nope!

SB: What’s in your heavy rotation right now? Yes, you listen to a lot of things, but you keep coming back to it/them with regularity.

AM: I’ve had Swae Lee’s single In The Dark on repeat for awhile. Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves in listening preparation for her new album drop. I seem to casually circle back to Bieber’s CHANGES album more than I realize.
